A wedding planner helps you plan your wedding. However, your wedding is still very much your own and no final decisions are made without you and your partner’s consent.

There are many reasons why you should hire a wedding planner. Although a planner is expensive, they help with your budget and other wedding expenses.  Wedding planners have planned many weddings, therefore, they know what to avoid and what to invest in. Planners know where spending a little extra money might be a valuable decision and when spending money is a poor decision. The financial decision is always yours, however, the planner offers invaluable insight and will help you see where your money is best directed. Perhaps you want to think about using a wedding planner but using a party rental company instead of a hall. That can save you money, but still provide you with the touch of planner.

Another reason to go with a planner is they can offer helpful legal advice. Planners will make sure your marriage document is correct and make sure you’re legally covered for your venue. For example, if you want to get married on a beach, there are many regulations and laws that you will need to follow. These processes can be done by an amateur, but there is always a chance of a mistake. It’s best to let documentation and paperwork be done by a planner who knows what they are doing.

The biggest reason to go with a planner is to reduce your stress levels. Planning weddings are a huge task and cause a lot of stress. There are a lot of numbers involved and planning a wedding is more than a one-person job. Your mental health will improve with the stress being lifted by hiring a planner. Also, the time leading up to your weddings already highly emotional and adding planning a wedding is just adding to your stress.

Indeed, there are many pros to hiring a wedding planner but there is also some cons.

The first one being you will have to relinquish some control of the wedding. If you are the type of person who cannot stand the idea of not doing everything yourself than a planner is not for you. If you are hiring a planner to make sure their ideas and values align with your own. Additionally, if you are on a tight budget spending money on a wedding planner might not be the most strategic move. The last reason is you might choose a venue with prepackaged services. Although not necessarily a con, the venue might offer prepackaged services and therefore a planner might not be needed.

Weddings are very expensive. If you have a huge budget than hiring a planner might be the smartest decision. If you are on a tight budget than hiring a planner is a decision you really have to contemplate. Regardless of whether you use a planner, you can also decide to save a ton of money by ditching the conventional wedding hall and using a party rental tent.
